Support / General Discussion / Wrong view scaling
« Last post by lottelita on March 24, 2021, 10:08:04 »
Device: Oculust Quest 2
Version number: 1.2.304

I've made an indoor tour using Pano2VR and view it in VR Tourviewer with Occulust Quest 2. But the view scaling is wrong, it's feels like I'm a tiny person and the surrounding is huge. It's the same with the demo tour as well (the interior one).
Please advice what can I do to adjust this.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks, I've replied to your email and you should have received an invitation to join the Beta channel from Oculus.
If you haven't seen it yet, please check your spam folder as well.

Hi Grayson,

The current version of VR Tourviewer contains a videoplayer that has some issues like you've described.
We've replaced the videoplayer with a better one in the current Beta version.

If you'd like to try the Beta version, can you send me the email address of your Oculus account (to Then I can give you access to this Beta version through the Oculus Beta Release Channel.

Note that videos with a resolution of 5760x2880 are at the edge of what the Oculus Go is capable of, and while videos with that size might play well in the Oculus gallery, VR Tourviewer adds some overhead which might prevent these videos from playing or could show some artefacts. But the issues you're reporting should definitely not be happening with files with a resolution of 4096x2048.

Hi, I've got a problem with a project I'm developing, it's a 360 VR tour designed in Pano2VR and seeking to use VRTourviewer on an Oculus headset, currently testing on a Go. I'm hoping you could help me please, before I go ahead and buy the full version of the app, because the project is for a community agency, and it needs to work before we hand it over.

The problem is that video files load either intermittently or not at all, despite playing ok (albeit with some latency in loading) in a browser on the computer when testing from Pano2VR.

The video files are 5760x2880 25fps .mp4 with a bitrate of round 110Mbit/s. They play fine when loaded individually onto the Go and played through the gallery; it's when played thru the VRTourviewer that they don't work properly. I've also tested them at 4096x2048 25fps 19Mbit/s - same problems.

Sometimes all video files in a tour will load and play. Sometimes the same files won't load at all. Sometimes the first one will load then nothing. It's very frustrating - I don't know what the factors are here causing errors that are intermittent.

Any insight you can offer would be hugely appreciated.

Support / General Discussion / Android Tablet for VR Tourviewer Remote
« Last post by visiongraphics on March 02, 2020, 16:57:09 »

we are currently using Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 for the remote, which works perfectly.  8)
Of course it is really expensive, so we are thinking of a lower priced solution for multiple VR headsets.

our other tries:
Galaxy Tab S 10.1 2014 is laggy, almost unusable. Older Android, so wifi hotspot works on wifi-only model, too.
Galaxy Tab S3 works, but not as fine as S6. Some videos in the tour are not displayed on it. We have a Wifi only version, so wifi hotspot doesen't work on it.
Galaxy Tab S5e is almost as good, as S6. Wifi hotspot works fine with LTE version.

Does anyone have experience with other, lower priced tablets?

The next update of VR Tourviewer will support video with transparency: either by using webm or with the use of a 'side-by-side' or 'top-bottom' alpha channel in the video. With this one half of the video will contain the normal video, the other half contains the transparency/alpha image.

A Remote 'control' option is planned, no release date set yet.

Thanks very much for this super speedy and very helpful reply Ruud. I am happy to confirm that your suggestion works and is a perfectly acceptable workaround for now  :)
