Image and video overlays have a 'Click Mode' in Pano2VR, VR Tourviewer can handle those.

But not only navigational hotspots are supported for Pano2VR tours, you can use hotspots with a direct url to a jpg or png image or an mp4 video.

You can switch between day and night shots just like switching to another panorama, so there's some loading time in between with the black screen with the progress indication.

This was done to prevent having to keep images of two panoramas in memory on mobile, since loading images from web with Unity (the program used to create the app) is a lot less streamlined than with a browser.

I'll reevaluate this and will see if I can load a second panorama without discarding the first one so transitions can be supported and the experience is more seemless.

About the hotspots: currently there's only one default hotspot icon in VR Tourviewer, custom hotspots aren't supported. Adding a predefined set of hotspots is planned, those can then be chosen to be linked to a certain Pano2VR skin-id.

Hi Jan, welcome to the forum!

- can i create tours with pop up images and videos visible in oculus go?
yes, overlay images and videos are supported

- is it possible to make transitions between two panos with same view (day / night effect)?
Transitions (fading etc.) aren't supported yet, but you can use a hotspot to switch between different panoramas.

- pano2vr is the editor for all these features, right?
Yes, VR Tourviewer focusses on supporting Pano2VR tours, only very basic krPano tours are supported.
Note that skins, maps, animation and menus aren't supported yet.

The technique you mention is called App Linking or Deep Linking.
Unfortunately that doesn't seem to work in the default Oculus VR browser or the new Firefox Reality browser yet.

As soon as this is available, I'll add support for it.

Thanks everyone for their suggestions!
The following items requested here have been added (as of version 0.5.182):

- Support for GearVR and Oculus Go controllers as laserpointer
- Use true north
- Polygonal hotspots

- Ability to choose hotspot icons from a predefined set for each Pano2VR skin-ID.
If you have suggestions for hotspot icons to include in this set, please post an example!

Thanks for the input! I've added Gear Remote pointer integration to the todo list.
Hope to have some time soon to add/finish a few planned features!

Polygon hotspots and 'Use true north' are at the top of the list, they will be added soon.

Hi tomton,

Adding support for QR codes is a good idea, thanks, I'll look into it.

Info targets will be supported soon, using the hotspot 'description' field from Pano2VR. Image targets are already supported. Note that skins from Pano2VR aren't supported so there will be a generic display for image and info targets. Adding a few preconfigured skins/styles for hotspots is planned so you'll be able to choose which style fits best for your tour.

Hi tomton,

Thanks for your feedback!

A version for non GearVR devices (cardboard version) is currently under development. It takes some time because it's preferrable to develop it in such a way that one line of development can be kept for all different versions (Android with GearVR, Android with cardboard, Windows as Remote display, Windows with Rift support.) We'll notify all registered users when a cardboard version is available.

Post your most wanted features here!

Features requested here can be added to, or moved up on the priority list.
Let us know what you'd like to see with VR Tourviewer!

This message means that the needed Oculus Signature for your device isn't included in the app yet.
This is a restriction by Oculus for the use of the Oculus VR Utilities in Unity.

Use the VR Tourviewer app for GearVR to immerse yourself in complete 360 degrees panoramic tours created with the excellent Pano2VR tour creation software from Garden Gnome.

VR Tourviewer supports monoscopic and stereoscopic 360 degrees panoramas, and can load online tours from the web, or load them from your device's sdcard. Point hotspots, audio and lensflares are supported.

VR Tourviewer is currently still under development. You can download the free beta version here.
