General Discussion / Re: Using OGG files in tours
« Last post by TomS on March 30, 2018, 22:16:53 »
Thanks Ruud,

My mistake, I guess I spent too much time reading the docs, and not enough time "just doing".  I uploaded an MP4 tour and it works great!  The grandkids will be having a great time with our new 'toy' this weekend.

Sorry to bother you.

Tom

Thanks for reporting!

The streaming issue on Windows is only with MP3 files, streaming MP4 should not be a problem.

The 'Featured' tour 'Panoramic video' from Panedia is also using MP4 files. It runs fine on the Windows VR Tourviewer Remote here, does it work for you?

Could you share your tour or a part of it with the video so I can see if I can recreate the issue?

General Discussion / Using OGG files in tours
« Last post by TomS on March 30, 2018, 21:38:41 »
Hi All,

I have video tour (walk thru) in MP4 format that plays fine on my S8+, but not on the Remote viewer.  I saw a reference that MP3 (MP4) files won't play on the viewer just yet due to patent issues.  The post said to convert the MP3 (MP4) file to an OGG file (no problem converting the files).

Is the fix as simple as converting the one MP4 file and replacing it in the phone and on my PC, or is there anything else needed.

Thanks, Tom

Thanks for the input! I've added Gear Remote pointer integration to the todo list.
Hope to have some time soon to add/finish a few planned features!

Hi!

I have tested your app and it works great on Galaxy S7.

I have the latest (v3) GearVR with the new controller. As a feature, it would be great, if the controller would fully supported. I never really liked the control (aiming) typ with the point in the middle of the FOV. I know with the carboard VR, thats the only way to take control over a VR-Tour, but with the new Samsung controller it is more comfortable. So I would really like, if the controller would fully supported. (Yes, I know, the buttons are working, but the controller doesn't shows up in the VR world.

Thanks!

General Discussion / Re: stereo and standard view on same tour
« Last post by Ruud van Reenen on July 08, 2017, 16:25:52 »
Ah, you can do that simply by making a stereo tour in Pano2VR, and using the same image for Left and Right when you want to show a monoscopic panorama.

The Demo tour in the app has a mix of stereo and monoscopic panoramas as well. The 'Villas Zeist' are monoscopic for example, simply using the same image twice.

Note that for VR Tourviewer to recognize the tour as 'stereo' you have to add the User Tag 'stereo' in at least one panorama. That way the fact that the tour is stereoscopic is stored in the XML file. Best practice is to use the first panorama for this.

This can't be done with the app unfortunately.

The VR Tourviewer app for Android uses the Oculus drivers to handle the Gear VR and it doesn't allow to switch between VR mode and normal viewing mode currently. So the entire app is always in VR mode.

Well sure I have explained in a bad way ..... my english is not good enough

I will like that all tour displays en VR mode , but the interesting for me is to allow 2 hotspot for the same room , one will show in VR stereo and the other should show same room in VR but not stereo, so viewer ( client )  can see the real difference making a tour in stereo or not.

Hello

I will like to know if it posible to make in a tour for example 2 hotspot to enter a room , once in standard cardboard way and the second one in stereo.

I have stereo one done , but my interest is to have both in the same tour.

Is that posible ??

Hi,
This can not be done in the current version.
In the HTML template you select use stereo pairs or not.

Hopki

Any workaround to make that posible ???

Hi,
Always but probably not nice.
You would make separate outputs with their own HTML page and then link the hotspots to the HTML page.
This means each node can be stereo or mono.
You would use the Go To URL action in the Hotspot template and enter the HTML page that has the project that needs to open.

Hopki

Thanks for reporting, I'll fix this in the next version. It might take some time until it's released though, due to a very busy schedule and the upcoming summer holidays.
